part one:have a try to different hairstyles

part two:find a best wig to you

Over the past two years, one hair trend that keeps creeping on our Instagram feed is crazy hair colors; from pastel pink a la Kim K and Hailey Baldwin to neon green on Dua Lipa and icy grey on Ariana Grande. And as much as we lust over their not so natural dos, the prospect of putting our hair through the hours of dying (and damage) seems like too much of a commitment. But that doesn’t mean you have to shake your head to cool new hair trends; rock a wig instead. While we realize a wig can seem like a slightly intimidating prospect, we promise it really doesn’t have to be. Once you know what type of wig to buy, just follow our super easy step-by-step guide and we swear you’ll be able to wear the hairstyle you’ve always wanted, but the one you’ve never been able to commit to.

For Those Of You Who Need A Little More Convincing…

Okay, so we totally realize that for the average gal (if there is such a thing), wearing a wig may seem a little extra. But we swear it’s so much fun and it allows you to try and test out so many different styles. Plus, once you get the hang of how to fit one, it’ll only take you 20 minutes, which depending on your usual hairstyle, could be quicker than a blow dry anyway!

How To Find The Best Wig For You

Size: When it comes to wigs, you really need to make sure that it fits your head, otherwise it can end up moving throughout the day, which is a total giveaway. Although the average size wig will tend to fit most head sizes, it’s important to note that there are petite and large sizes too. Most wigs will actually come with adjustable straps so you can secure it to your head and get a comfortable fit. To work out what size wig is right for you, measure the circumference of your head (from the front hairline, behind your ear to the nape of your neck).

Hair: Although human hair wigs may be more expensive, we think it’s definitely worth the money as you can style them more easily, whereas synthetic wigs will remain in the style that you bought them. Plus, human hair obviously looks a lot more realistic, although it does require more TLC, just like your natural hair. If you do decide to go the natural hair route, you should only use products on your wig that are catered for dry, damaged hair, as the wig hair is not being naturally conditioned by the oils of your scalp.
