Wigs are a convenient way to temporarily change the texture, color or style of your hair.

Similar to human hair, synthetic wigs can suffer from frizz due to dryness or damage. This is often the result of excess brushing, styling, or the use of heating tools and products. Special maintenance is required to maintain the appearance of a wig and keep it looking in tip-top shape. Frizz can be corrected through several simple procedures to improve the longevity of your wig.

Comb out the wig with a wide-tooth comb.

Gradually work from section to section, beginning at the bottom layers of hair and working your way up. Pin back the top layers of hair to easily reach the bottom layers. Gently remove any tangles or knots to prevent further damage.

Fill the sink approximately half-way full with cold water.

Add 1 tablespoon of professional wig shampoo to the water and mix. Submerge the wig in the cold water. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the wig as this can cause damage. Allow the wig to sit in the water for 3 minutes.
